Hi group: Can't find an estate record for an ancestor? You might want to consider the possibility of a trust. In a trust the property is transferred to the descendants via the trust. The trust document names the trustee. The trust is recorded in the land records. I knew my ancestor, John Forrester, owned property but I couldn't find a will or estate record. So I checked to see what happened to his property and found the trust. If the trustee is changed for some reason there will be another record to document the transfer.
