    1. [ALL] 1940 Census
    2. Friends-- I look forward to seeing the 1940 Census next year. It will be the first census where I will find myself and my wife listed. I have been around the genealogy world long enough to remember when the 1910 Census first came out. In Southern CA we all stormed the Federal Archives at Laguna Niguel, and took numbers and waited for our turn to get on a microfilm reader. A person usually got on a reader twice, sometimes three times in a day if they were lucky. There were about 50 microfilm readers, and some folks even brought their own portable microfilm readers and plugged them into outlets on the floor. The place was literally mobbed over the Christmas Season of 1982. I think it will be a lot easier today because of the strong impact that Ancestry dot com has had, as well the fact that most folks have computers and are on-line, and can do a lot of research from home.
