Nancy, you said: " On the Homewood Cemetery site, they have burial records and a search engine." This is new info to me, and I will pass it on to my friends. No need to send a link, I'll find it myself. Thanks, Bella Mar 28, 2011 08:51:32 AM, paallegh@rootsweb.com wrote: Yes, Homewood did have a crematorium. The cremation I just checked on was in 1948. Not sure what years their crematorium operated. They also have a Garden of Rest of cremated remains although ashes weren't always interred in same year as death/cremation. My stillborn baby sister was born 11/22/1948, cremated 11/24/1948, and ashed not interred until 1952. I'm sure there were ashes buried in individual plots but for those who couldn't afford it, like my parents, the Garden of Rest is a communal plot, basically unmarked. On the Homewood Cemetery site, they have burial records and a search engine. Good luck!
