In the 1911, the journalist keep writing about cars that right before the accident “turn turtle”. I have no idea what that describes. In one article, a steering column broke so maybe “turning turtle” meant the car just stood still and all other vehicles hit it since they could not stop quickly. Just wondering.... annie
