St. Margarte's is actually in the City of Pittsburgh, not Aspinwall. It was built on the old filtration plant property which is City property. Aspinwall ends at Delafield Avenue (on the west of the property) Donna Mar 20, 2011 06:35:35 PM, paallegh@rootsweb.com wrote: Nancy and Listers: I was born at St. Margaret's Hospital, in 1948. At that time the hospital was definitely in Lawrenceville, and was run by the Episcopal Church. If not mistaken the building is now a senior citizen bldg. St. Margaret's moved out to Aspinwall, guessing in the early 1970's or later; someone may be able to clarify the date. I know there are Carothers buried in Allegheny cemetery, as I have a great-great aunt, Jane Ann Thomson (1804--1863) married to Robert Carothers, buried there. Any chance you descend from this couple? Hope this is of somehelp.
