I have the surname "Beckert". This family came from Germany (near Freiburg) and settled in Zanesville, Ohio. My gr-gr-gr grandfather was Andreas Beckert and he was married to Magdalena Linck. Most of his children were born in Zanesville. Andreas ran a steam ship between Ohio and PA and at one point lived in Pittsburgh. My gr-gr grandmother Magdalena Beckert (Koehler) was born there in 1839. Andreas 2nd wife was from Pittsburgh and supposedly poisoned him shortly after marrying him (Mary Curfellyon).
