    1. [ALL] Web site to find relatives
    2. Jerome Dittman
    3. I recently accidentally came across this site which, so far, has enabled me to find the possible names of the wives, and some of their children for 4 of my once removed cousins. Combining the information from this site with the SSDI I was also enable to obtain birth and death dates for both along with the ZIP code of where they were living when they died. This site provides the death date, back into the 1800's ( my oldest was 120 years) along with a list of Known Relatives. In the list all married women are listed by their married names, in some instances you may get their parents. Finding one name you think may be the one, checking the Known Relative list may give you a female name that is possibly the wife. Going through the list again looking for the female name should give you your males name, in the Known Relative list, which possibly means that they are husband and wife. I then compared the names I found with their names on the SSDI and found the vital statistics. The web site is: www.peoplesearch.com Use the Advanced Search option. Just input surname, city and state. This will return you a list of people having that surname in the city you had searched. Just hope that the name is not a real common one, like Russell; they wanted me to provide a more specific location. There are too many people with the Russell name in Pittsburgh's history for them to provide at once. I'm looking for a Rosana Russell who at one time lived in the 100 block of W. Steuben St. She was previously married to a unknown Sharpe. Neither of the husbands names turns up where I can match with her. I found her though without any references. You can obtain additional information on your finds for a price. Hope this helps someon. Jerry Dittman Boonsboro, MD

This Library of Congress site includes links to newspaper archive sources on the Internet, including full texts and indexes. “These are the ones your local library used to keep in a card catalog, but have since automated. This list also includes projects with searchable, digitized images of the papers.”
