    3. St Augustine is a Catholic Church. The Church of Ireland is a Protestant church. The Chutrch of Ireland is the Irish equivalent of The Church of England. It became the official legal church of Ireland because the crown made it that way. The Catholic Church in Ireland was illegal or at least unrecognized until mid 1800's as were several other religions to varing degree. That I am 100% certain. I am not certain but believe they would have been Episcopal in Pittsburgh similar to Evangelische in germany being called Lutheran in US.
