Hi Listers, > Hello List, It's a new year, so how about posting our surname > interests? I am researching these names in the Pittsburgh area: > LEWIS, HOLMAN, HOHMAN/HOHMANN, GEISLER, > LANG, CYPHERS, WOOLSLAYER, JONES - mostly > 1800s. The German names mostly lived in the East Liberty > area and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Most of what I'm working on are ancestors who came to Allegheny county from other places in the 1780s and 1790s; the ANDERSONs and WEIBEL/WIBLEs from Lancaster county, the McFARLANDs from Franklin county. Ancestral immigrants to the Allegheny River corridor (Clarion, Armstrong, and northern Butler counties) are ORR and COULTER. And then there are the much later immigrants TRIEBL and ZAUNER from Hungary/Romania, and STRUTZ from Slovenia through Austria and Germany. Thanks to everybody who is part of this message group. Jim Strutz
