Larry, Does your item back up the entire computer file, or does it just back up added material since the last back-up? Mine can do an added material only, which is very fast. But I can see the advantage of doing a total back-up periodically, because of system updates. When you install it, it automatically sets up automatic backups. You only have to set up the frequency. A plus to disconnecting the backup drive when not in use, is it prevents a virus you pickup from infecting the remote drive.
