    3. Clare, Yes I did. Perhaps I will give it another try. Back then a lot of the counties up to Erie were under Allegheny. Is it possible they could be listed in one of them such as Mercer, Sharon, etc? -----Original Message----- From: Clare Sent: Wednesday, January 01, 2014 6:49 PM To: paallegh@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ALL] Marriage records If the marriage isn't at the court house, then they most likely didn't marry there. Have you checked West Virginia? Many couples went to Wheeling to marry. http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_mcsearch.aspx They could have gone to another county. 3. You never have to enter a tree to search at FamilySearch.org. Everything there is free.

    3. Right, Helen, about FamilySearch...but I asked if she had contacted the court house. If the marriage took place there, it should have been recorded there. Mary Ann, in 1898, which is when you said your ancestors married, the counties in Pennsylvania are as they are today since the last change was in 1878. http://www.mapofus.org/pennsylvania/ Clare

    2. Uh Re this No, I used to belong to Ancestry and put all that information on the site. Which is suppose to be private. I was wondering how you got all the information. Just want to know and call them and ask them about it. I got all that info from the New Castle News paper on Ancestry. Anyone who belongs to Ancestry has the right to view the newspapers that are available for anyone to see. I am sorry I bothered to help someone. I have been on this list for years and years and this is the first time that I was questioned re trying to help someone. I did not go into your tree nor did I even check to see if you had a tree on it. Hence why would I ask if you belonged to Ancestry.com in the first place? Going to go back to just reading posts and minding my own business. Happy New Years everyone Hope you have a good one this year Sharon

    3. David J Bevan and Elizabeth or Bessie McDermott. They lived in New Castle, Pa. (Lawrence Co.) Surrounding counties back then were different. Allegheny Co being the largest. (Pgh). He was born on April 1, 1870 in England/Wales and she was born June 29, 1881 in Pa. I have parents names if you need them. I have checked everywhere I can think of even into New York. It is rumored they went to Niagara Falls on their honey moon. Which would be a distance back then. First child was born in 1899. Do you need more? I have hit a brick wall over and over on this one. 3. Hi Barbara! Yes... After you enter the names, etc., and find who you're looking for, click the name. (You probably know this part) The index page with information on the couple will come up, then scroll down to the right side bottom of the page and you'll see "View document" and "Save Image". I like to use the "Save Image" because I can use the icons on the document to make it larger. If it gets too big, I'll click the incon that says "Best Image" and start over until I have all the information I want. Anyway, click there and a box will come up and hit "Open". Wait a few seconds and the image should be there. It usually will be small and that's when these little icons at the bottom of the page come in handy. Good luck with your hunting and let me know how this works for you. ~Hugs from your neighbor, Bev Pray for rain! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara%2FBill" <bandbpompei@comcast.net> To: <paallegh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 01, 2014 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [ALL] Marriage records > > So Bev, are you saying that if you see the names in that index > page....then there's a way to look at the actual document in that same > collection? > > Thanx Barbara > (from Willow Berm Marina) > > > ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ > > Visit our Allegheny County, PA Website: > http://www.pagenweb.org/~allegheny/index.htm > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PAALLEGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
