Hi Janice, George M. Proudfoot (1870-1930) was from Homestead, also. I don't find the surname very common and since they are from the same small area, it would seem like they'd be related. George Proudfoot and some others by that name are on my website. It's a collateral line and I have to do some searching to see how they connect to my relatives What is your grandmother's first name and data? Would love to work with you. Always makes genealogy more fun. ~Blessings, Bev in Calif. Hi, If I may. The time retention of Medical Records varies by state. After that time has elapsed all providers can and most do, incinerate those records. I believe a records from the 1960's have met that time requirement. Having worked in that profession for a couple decades, I can attest to that.
Mary Lou and Bev: With the HIPPA requirements you'll have to jump through hoops to try to get any medical records except for your own. Yes I am. Not the line from Samuel. I understand there is another line. I don't know how long I have belonged to this list but I do remember when someone by my name, Clare, came on the list and became the boss. (Not really) I started doing Genealogy in 1967 which is 47 years ago. Although I was born in Brackenridge, Pa., at 18, I went to NY. I married at 30 and we lived in Westchester Co. NY. In 1967 we had our 1st son. There were no computers at the time so once a week, I took the train to NYC to the BIG library on 42nd St. to start doing genealogy for a reason that I wilI explain. If I found 1 item every month, I thought I was doing great. Then computers arrived as did Ancestry and various lists. It took me a while to discover that all the info posted to Ancestry was not documented.! ! > Wh! >> y did I start doing Genealogy? My husband knew nothing about his mother's family. He was born in Mass. and his mother died at his birth. Her family wanted nothing to do with the baby because they felt that he killed her. Her family was very wealthy and she married the chauffeur who was my husband's father and from VA. At 6 months old, he took the baby to VA to be raised by his sister and her husband which they followed through after my husband's dad died when he was 11. To this day the following generations involving his mother's family still want nothing to do with us. I feel it is their loss. Our son who was b. in 1967 is now a member of the SAR with 3 surnames and 7 more waiting to be submitted one at a time. (All from Mass. and all from her family) He is a proven descendant of 6 who arrived on the Mayflower. (Wouldn't they like to have all this info?) Then my son said to me "Don't we have anyone from the original Jamestown"? So we started. We have only pr! o! > v! >> en and documented a few surnames from Jamestown but we have more from >> VA and MD. We have the name but no printed documentation of an ancestor from Mary Ball the mother of George Washington and we have proven my son is a descendant of Pres. Taylor and several others but these have not been submitted. The papers are all ready with the documentation in case I don't make it long enough for him to submit everything. He is a graduate with a History Major and I think all of our research has contributed to this. Now to Allegheny Co. where I original started with my family because at least I had some info. My family is Neal and Vance and although I have a lot of interesting info, in 47 years, I have not added any generations. This past week I posted some info and questions. I want my son to have some info on my family. My sons were 17 and 15 when my husband died and I was on Rt 80 from NY to Natrona Heights every time one of my parents got sick. I called my mom and asked if she and dad would like to spend the winter in Fla. With a yes, I rented a place in Clearwater. They liked it and I found another place and bought it. We spent 3 winters in Fla. I sold the house in NY and rented an apartment in New Kensington for the summer. I could do a lot of my genealogy as long as I lived in the area. My dad died in 1992 and I gave up the apt. in New Ken. Mom has now passed away and my sons now live down here. For those who might know me, I was Clare Marie Lippert of Natrona Heights, lived on Princeton Ave., and I graduated from HarBrack High school in 1950. I am trying to find my dad's old medical records from 1963. I know that Allegheny General Hospital has taken the records for Bellevue Hospital but they can't find his records. He was in that hospital for 6 weeks before he died and also before that for surgery. His doctors were Dr. Bernard from Emsworth and Dr. Allison but they are both long gone. Does anyone have any idea how I can get the records for my mother? Mary Lou

Have you looked at the census records to get a clue of their names? If you have an idea of their names you could look on the Pennsylvania marriage index to see if they married in PA. Also, did your mother have any siblings? If you know, tell us that. What was your mother's name... maiden surname and married surname, too? What does your mother's death certificate say? When did she pass away? It just seems like someone on the list could help you and I would be willing to try through the internet. It's possible that there's a tree on Ancestry.com. ~Blessings, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carole Mason" <jebcam1990@aol.com> To: <FredandMaryFran@gmail.com>; <paallegh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 08, 2014 8:32 AM Subject: Re: [ALL] Professional genealogist > Can anyone recommend a professional genealogist in your area. Helen, Thanks for the message that tells me that my husband is not the only one who was disliked by a family. We have corresponded before. I was Mac's friend and a member of the phone booth. When my husband and I became engaged I got the distinct impression his family thought he was marrying down. They believed they were upper social strata and wealthy. As time passed it became out that my family have 4 times as much money to leave us and many more relatives on my side had advance degrees from college and had contributed more to the common good of man.
