    1. [ALL] William Powell executor of George Croghan's will
    2. FredandMaryFrances Powell
    3. I am seeking any information on the William POWELL of Allegheny County who was one of the executors of the will of George CROGHAN. In my possession are a number of records handled by POWELL as he performed his duties as one of the executors of CROGHAN's estate settlements. Where and when was William born? I believe he died in Allegheny County but don't have the date. There must be some web page with information on William POWELL, but so far, I have not found answers to my questions; although, google has many articles on CROGHAN. Reputedly, CROGHAN and POWELL were kinsmen. Is this accurate? Did POWELL marry a sister, daughter, relative of CROGHAN? As can be readily seen, I am just beginning this research. Any and all help/hints/clues/sources sincerely appreciated. Fred Powell, Sr.

    3. There is a little button on the top right side of the computer that says "Print Screen" or "Prt Sc". If you push that button and then open a page in a word processing program and then you can just paste the whole page and print it or save it to where you want. This button is on all computer keyboards and you dont need to add anything to the computer. It will print whatever the screen says. > Date: Sat, 5 Feb 2011 13:48:33 -0500 > From: lt0168@epix.net > To: paallegh@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [ALL] Google newspaper archives online > > Carol: > If you use Firefox there is an add-on you can get called Screen Capture > Elite. 1. [ALL] Civil War questions
    2. Dawn Butler
    3. I have two general Civil War questions. 1.  I have an Asenath Rowley in my tree who was a Union Army Nurse according to Cemetery records.  Are there any records available for the nurses that served in the Civil War?  She lived in NY and Michigan. 2.  I found a Civil War record that had the name of the person and an alias?  Why would a person have an alias and would the chosen alias have any meaning?  Thanks for your help. 3. Thanks for that link. That has to be him. He was from Wilkinsburg and the time would be right. Dad (who is now deceased) told me that Grandpa started out studying to become a doctor and when he was in a wreck and told he wouldn't walk again got help from a chiropractor who got him walking. Then he changed his major. Dad told me he graduated from University of Pitt. But probably rather than studying to be medical doctor originally, he was studying to be a dentist and then changed to chiropractor. And I think he must have changed schools too, not graduating from Pitt because I can't find him anywhere in 1922, 23, etc. yearbooks. But thanks again for the link. Bill Johnson On Feb 6, 2011, bertaillig@aol.com wrote: Bill, Try this site -- Documenting Pitt -- history of the University of Pittsburgh. There is a search box in the middle of the front page and a Yearbook section to browse or search. Found a Norman C. Johnson from Wilkinsburg listed in the 1920 and 1921 yearbooks as a freshman and sophmore in the School of Dentistry. http://digital.library.pitt.edu/d/documentingpitt/ - Wilberta -----Original Message----- From: c. william johnson jr <cwilliamjohnsonjr@hughes.net> To: paallegh <paallegh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sun, Feb 6, 2011 9:25 am Subject: [ALL] University of Pitt graduates Is there a list somewhere of graduates of university of Pitt? My grandfather, Norman Collier Johnson, born 1897 graduated there, but I don't know when. He also was enlisted in the military in the tail end of WWI so I don't know if his education preceded his military or vice versa. He majored in medicine but became a chiropractor.
