Hi, List. I am trying to find out what happened to the William F. Zepfel Funeral Home, when they might have closed, and where their records might be. In 1948, they were located at 272 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh. Their name might have changed, at one point, to the Dorothy B. Zepfel Funeral Home. They are the undertaker listed on the death certificate for my baby sister, Baby Girl Caruthers, and my sister and I are trying to find out what happened to her remains when she was stillborn at St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital 11/22/1948. The hospital says they think her ashes would have been given to the funeral home but we are currently unaware of any burial site for her. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks very much. any takers on this question that came to me from one of our loyal indexers? ...By the way does anyone there in your department know anything about automobile crashes? In the 1911, the journalist keep writing about cars that right before the accident “turn turtle”. I have no idea what that describes. In one article, a steering column broke so maybe “turning turtle” meant the car just stood still and all other vehicles hit it since they could not stop quickly. Just wondering.... annie
I think I'm gonna live forever with my genes......seems with all these newspapers having been indexed my people aren't in the obits ......!! That's encouraging!!! Gotta keep a postive attitude! Barbara
