Hi, List. I did find out where my baby sister's ashes were buried. Thank you to everyone who contributed info and helpful hints in my search for the Zepfel Funeral Home. I took another look at the death certificate and decided to try and find the crematorium and ended up with Homewood Cemetery who had a crematorium in 1948. My sister's ashes were cremated in 1948 and the ashes were buried in Homewood Cemetery's Garden of Rest section for cremated remains in 1952. Homewood was very, very helpful and verified the info from the burial card. Thank you again to everyone who chimed in with advice and leads. Try the Plum Creek Cemetery in Plum Boro. Earlier people were buried in the Old Plum Creek Cemetery which is now called Laid Cemetery at the corner of Rt 380 and New Texas Road. The Allegheny Foothills Historical Society (housed in the Plum Library) may have more information. Beverly In a message dated 3/22/2011 11:04:09 A.M. Jeanette, You are correct on this too! Apparently my Mother's sister and brothers, and even my Father stood outside and waved to her. Don't know why my Dad was not inside, but I do remember my Mother telling me this. I was the first grandchild on that side so I guess it was a big deal for her family. Their mother had died the previous December, 1947, which of course meant my Mother was pregnant at the time of her mother's death. Marybeth ===================================================================================================== From: "J T Walton" <jtwalton13@comcast.net> Subject: Re: [ALL] Zepfel Funeral Home To: <paallegh@rootsweb.com> I think it was 2-way, and cobblestone. The parking was horrible at St. Margaret's, with just a small lot around the back of the building. Our children were born there, and my parents brought the older ones to stand down below and wave to me. That was long before children were permitted to visit. Thanks for the memory. Jeannette
Thank you Norm! Never argue with your Mother, right? I am trying to read the death notice for Margaret H. Fluke in the 4/21/1984 Pittsburgh Post Gazette newspaper. She died 4/18/1984. I can read that & where it says beloved daughter of the late. That is where I am having trouble. I checked from 4/18/1984 to 4/23/1984 (4/22 is missing) so it seems the only time her death notice was listed was 4/21/1984. >From checking the Social Security she was born 3/5/1903 & is buried in the Allegheny Cemetery, but I can't find anyother Flukes listed in this cemetery. I am hoping that she was the daughter of Robert S. Fluke. But I am not sure who her mother was as in the 1910 census, Robert age 40 is already a widower living in Denver, Colorado with his mother, Margaret age 64 & daughter, Margaret age 7 Before that, in the 1900 census Robert S. is living with his widowed mother Margaret in Madison Twp., Clarion Co. PA. Then in the 1920 census Robert is still listed as widowed living with his mother & daughter, Margaret H. age 16 in Ward 8, Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co. PA. Then what really throws me is in the 1930 census for Wilkinsburg, Allegheny Co. PA. is a Robert S. Fluke age 55 with Soledad Fluke age 29, Margaret H. Fluke age 24 & Beatrice Fluke age 7 living with him. I am hoping that someone can please help me. Gloria
