Greetings to Tim, Also good to note that ALL the counties in Pennsylvania collected Death records between 1893-1906. The Western PA Genealogical Society has produced a book of the index to those entries at the County. If you find an entry in that index book for your relative, you can send to WPGS for $5.00 and they will send the copy of the actual item to you. Index is sorted alphabetically, then by municipality. No one in Armstrong County has done a publication like that, however the original volumes of the records are available at the Courthouse in Kittanning. Not sure what years their crematorium operated. They also have a Garden of Rest of cremated remains although ashes weren't always interred in same year as death/cremation. My stillborn baby sister was born 11/22/1948, cremated 11/24/1948, and ashed not interred until 1952. I'm sure there were ashes buried in individual plots but for those who couldn't afford it, like my parents, the Garden of Rest is a communal plot, basically unmarked. Yes, Homewood did have a crematorium. The cremation I just checked on was in 1948. Not sure what years their crematorium operated. They also have a Garden of Rest of cremated remains although ashes weren't always interred in same year as death/cremation. My stillborn baby sister was born 11/22/1948, cremated 11/24/1948, and ashed not interred until 1952. I'm sure there were ashes buried in individual plots but for those who couldn't afford it, like my parents, the Garden of Rest is a communal plot, basically unmarked. On the Homewood Cemetery site, they have burial records and a search engine. Good luck!
