Sandra: Thanks for the link. But that actually deepens the mystery. I checked one other name from the marriage list and two names from the deaths and they are not in the death or marriage index. Hi group: In the marriage index under males, "t", there is an entry for an Archibald Thompson married to Tillie Danver. The date given is 1889-07-27, in the Dispatch. I am trying to track down Civil War veteran ancestors. My great-uncle is listed in the 1910 Census for Pittsburgh. In the column designated for veterans there is a number 7. What does that mean? Some other columns have X's or different numbers. Thanks, 'Genie
Ilona, Post your query on DVHH, you'll get a lot of answer's. Best regards, Barb
Just sent a new photo index update for uploading-- It usually takes a couple of days for the posting due to the work necessary to convert it (one more time) to the format for uploading-- Other big news is in the wings-- There's a tremendous World War I project that Lynn B (of our group) has been working on-- Can't wait to unveil it to the group. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks. Maybe the Easter Bunny will deliver it to us all. Just let me say, "It's completely and utterly awesome!" I suspect with the regularity of new dates pouring in that we will be ready to send the death index upload within the next 2 or 3 weeks. Keep 'em coming! I also heard from the Carnegie/Carnegie folks that the response from the plea to help identify the members of the GAR Captain Thomas Espy Post 153 has been great. They are having a meeting later this month to try and get the names all straightened out. There's still time to check the photo out and see if your great grandpa was there. annie

Hello; Does anyone know of a Hungarian Mail-order catalogue? I use to purchase items from Treasures from Hungary out of Denver, Colorado. They had the most unique items. They gave up the business years ago. I am looking for a Tee shirt that has the words American-Hungarian on top. Under the word Am. is the Am. flag and the same under the word Hung. is the Hungarian flag. Below that, The Best of Both Worlds. I had placed an order last summer with the Magyar Geauga Culture Club in Hiram,Ohio, but I can't get a hold of anyone to help me out. Thank You, Ilona

Hi, Thanks to all the volunteers who have been listing marriage and death records we discovered new information on my husband's grandfather. In the Pittsburgh Press dated August 3, 1896 we read "Stubenville, O., Alexander O'Brien and Lizzie Doake, a youthful appearing Pittsburg couple, were married here yesterday evening after wandering about four hours". We obtained a copy of the Marriage Certificate from Jefferson County, Ohio, and the couple gave their ages as 21 and 18, actually they were 16 and 14 1/2. I am curious as to what the requirements to get a marriage license in Allegheny County were in 1896. Thanks, Pat in Florida
