    3. Hello Klaus I am not nor have any Burger in my lineage. However, I had a few minutes and selected the youngest Ambrose to find what I could for you. 1910 He was living with his parents on Pearl St in 8th ward. Mary is the only child missing probably married. In 1942 *Ambrose Gerard Burger* draft card stated dob as 15 Oct 1896 living in Irwin, Westmoreland County living with his brother Bernard, self employed , unmarried. Social security Death DoB now listed as 15 Oct 1901. Sept 1973 Renfrew, Butler county PA. Here is a link to a Pittsburgh newspaper for year 1973. You can browse September papers for a Death notice and pick up some notes on Ambrose most likely. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=91QqAAAAIBAJ&sjid=WVMEAAAAIBAJ&pg=7120,3106005&dq=&hl=en Also you mentioned they were Catholic. The Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese does an excellent job if you give them enough information to work with. I am sorry I did not find 1920 or 1930 on my quick search but wanted to get this off to you. Best of luck I am certain that more listers will help you. I would be happy when I get a chance. The Name Burger is also spelled in America as Berger. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Klaus-Peter Hölzer" <kpholz@gmx.de> To: <PAALLEGH@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 19, 2011 4:25 PM Subject: [ALL] BURGER-families in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania - Anthony BURGER, * 1859 Hello, I was requested by Hubert Burger to help him to find his lost distant relatives in Allegheny County, PA. In about 1880 three Burger brothers emigrated from Gross-Zimmern, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germay to North-America: Anton BURGER, a baker, born Gross-Zimmern 29 Apr 1859, Adam BURGER, a butcher, born Gross-Zimmern 13 Dec 1860. Philip BURGER, a baker, born Gross-Zimmern 14 Sep 1865. They were Catholics and Adam Burger and Philip Burger settled in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We could get in contact with some relatives there, but we are on the beginning of our researches in and around Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Now I could find Anthony Burger in Allengheny City in the 1900 US Census: Anthony Burger, a backer, born in Germany in Apr 1959, his wife Mary Burger, born in Germany in Dec 1859, their children: Philip Burger, born in Pennsylvania in May 1883, a baker, John Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Sep 1885, a brickyard worker Mary Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Nov 1887, Bernard Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Sep 1891, George Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Sep 1893, Margaret Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Mar 1896, Rose Burger, born in Pennsylvania in May 1898, Tillie Burger, born in Pennsylvania in Mar 1900 later Ambros Burger, born in Pennsylvania in 1901 Ancestor of the Burger families in Gross-Zimmern was Jean Burger, a Catholic, who came from the Diocese of Liège in Belgium during the Thirty Years' War, 1618-1648. On 6 Mar 1653 his first son Wendel Philipp Burger was born. We would like to get in contact with descendants of Anthony Burger and/or interested searcher to share informations, because we would like to write a Burger family history. Thanks in advance. If somebody has access to 1910 and 1920 US census would be great. I want it indexed and have all the names that I'm interested in underlined! Is that asking too much? Barbara

At this moment there are 348 days, 18 hours, 30 min, and....40 seconds until the release of the 1940 Census: April 2, 2012. ........Course, in the time for typing that info it¹s already changed and continues to count down, second by second! 3. I would contact the McKeesport Heritage center http://www.mckeesportheritage.org/ It may have been in the McKeesport Daily News. During this time peiod the Greensburg Tribune-Review got into the Pittsburgh market and it may have been in their obits. I do not know how far the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review goes back on their obits. 3. I am assuming the Munhall/Homestead area of Pittsburgh no longer has a newspaper. If so, where would I look for the obituary of Dorothy Kunselman who died 18 Apr 2001. Her obit is not in the "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette". Thank you for any suggestions. Shirley Berndt, in MI
