    3. Hi Madeleine, Try this website for Pennsylvania county marriages: https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1589502 If you find it usually the original record is there. If you have any problems, let me know. There's a site for Ohio county marriages, also. ~Blessing for the New Year, Bev in Calif. P.S. Calif. is in a severe draught... Allegheny County did not ask all the good questions on the form till 1914.   Don On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 12:49 PM, Debbie (Ks) <deb-ks@cox.net> wrote: Familysearch.org has it, but no parents listed. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-21130-38574-92?cc=1589502&wc=MMY5-SYF:n1828036073 Deb

    3. http://www.libraries.psu.edu/psul/digital/sanborn.html   This address was provided recently that shows Sanborn maps of the Pgh area.   I've tried to look up areas with lousy results and wondered if anyone else has had more luck.   I'm interested in the Mt. Washington area - specifically the corner of Sweetbriar and Well.    Is that area not included in this map collection or am I using the wrong search word?    It doesn't seem to extend all the way to Stowe Twp/ McKees Rocks either.   Maybe this site will be helpful to someone else - hope so.   Barbara

    3. Thanks for posting this, Joe. I took a look and it appears the law only effects FOIA reporting of deaths within 3 years of the current date.  Hence the historic information present in the online copies of the SSDI dating earlier than December, 2010, are no problem.  The primary effect will be on applications for social security card application forms for those who died in the past 3 years. The SSDI search on my site will remain: http://SSDI.DonsList.net Happy New Year.   Don On Tuesday, December 31, 2013 9:21 AM, Joseph Martin <illinoisgenie@gmail.com> wrote: Dick Eastman reported today that access to the SSDI is now limited. STANIEK. [In the 1870-1880-1900 censuses he and several of his brothers worked on the railroad in Pittsburgh.] To add to the confusion I have an old photo, circa 1910, taken of Joseph wearing a mining hat, with the light atop it. He died in 1917 resulting from TB, and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, without a headstone in a single grave. His wife Nancy Jane/Jennie nee Wilmot Staniek died in 1897, burial unmarked in Allegheny Cemetery. Anyhow, I have tried to bring up this link, but the Mocavo.com site wants paid access, which I do not have. If anyone has access to this source and could do a lookup, I would greatly appreciate it. There is a link to it on Google books, but it is a browse search with many pages. Maybe your ancestor can be found in this source, Joseph. My guess is that these miners were recruited by the mine companies, as there are a lot of Eastern European names listed. Hope this is of some help. 3. Hope you find something. I have found in my research that many death notices/obit were only put in local papers that no longer exists. Try to find the newpaper that cover the area she lived in. Example. My ancestors lived in the Mt Oliver, Lower St Clair, Allentown, Knoxville part of Pittsburgh. Their death notice appeared in what was called THE HILLTOP RECORD only. They did not appear in the major downtown newpapers Helen in Pgh -------------------------------------------------- From: "Virginia Patricelli" <virgpat@usfamily.net> Sent: Monday, December 30, 2013 8:28 PM To: <paallegh@rootsweb.com> Subject: [ALL] Obit for Agnes McGrady July 1, 1873 > Does anyone know if there are any Pittsburgh newspaper archives for > obits that would cover July 1, 1873?
