Hi: Looking for info on parents of Jacob A Warner born 1828 in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Info says he lived in Adams County, PA for 23 years before moving to Lancaster County, then Stark County, Ohio and to Cedar County, PA where he married and spent the remainder of his life. He died in 1903. Thank you, Dot **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Hello Dot. I suspect MAY be somehow connected to the Jacob Warner you are seeking. I am descended from Johannes Werner of Germany Twp. Adams Co. PA. His descendants may be found as Warner, Varner or Werner. However I cannot locate a Jacob born in 1828. There are LOTS of Jacob in that family and other Warner families in the area about that time period. Can you tell me anything more about this Jacob? What about his spouse and children? Thanks, Don Varner -:Cambria County, PA,, Schools Pages - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pacambr2/ - I will search my Varner- Warner- Werner- Verner- database (159,000+ persons) OR my Cambria Co. PA database (89,000+ persons) anytime and share information. VISIT: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/v/a/r/Donald--R-Varner OR http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/users/v/a/r/Donald-R-Varner
Dot, Did you mean Jacob A Warner moved to Cedar Co, IA (Iowa) instead of PA? If so, I did see the story about him, coming to Cedar Co in 1855, and marrying the widow Denson (Mary J Riddel) on Jan 29, 1857. I saw that he declared both parents were born in Pennsylvania, so that may rule out some Warner (or like spelling) in Adams Co. >From The History of Cedar County Iowa & a few census records: Jacob A, b Nov 8, 1828, Adams Co., PA in Franklin Twp., Adams Co. PA in 1850 census (as Jacob A Werner) as a boarder & miller in the home of Frederick & Catherine STOVER, he also a miller. to Lancaster Co., PA cir 1851 to Stark Co., OH cir 1853 to Center Twp, Cedar Co, IA in 1860 census to Fairfield Twp, Cedar Co, IA in 1870 census (as JA Warner) in Fairfield Twp, Cedar Co, IA in 1880 & widowed in 1900 Father of Emma M, Henry J, and Clara J. Jacob died March 8, 1903 and is buried in Clarence Cemetery, Dayton, Cedar Co., IA. I haven't found a Warner family in the 1830 census with a male <5yrs in Adams Co. Will check once again and will look in 1840 for 'suspect' parents of Jacob A. I will report back. Please note Dot, I added this info on Jacob in case the extra info sparks an idea with the others on this list. Through all census records I found, Jacob used the letter A in his name (Jacob A or J A) I wonder if he was distinguishing himself from another Jacob Warner, b Adams Co., PA.
