    1. [PAADAMS] Smith, John, William and George
    2. Dr. Neal O. Hively, Thank You. I would really appreciate knowing when your book if for sale. Also, might there be a James Smith listed in the land records? >From what I understand of the will of John Smith, James inherited land from John Smith. James Smith may be the son of William and Elizabeth Smith, who married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of John and Margaret. James Smith is listed in the will of John Smith, James is also to care for Margaret Smith, widow of John. These Smith families seem to complicate research in naming their children somewhat the same, except for James {son of William and Elizabeth} and Hugh, {son of John and Margaret}, William, son of William and Elizabeth; and John, son of John and Margaret Smith. Marilyn, I don't think these are of the same William Smith families. William and Elizabeth did have a son named William. I don't know who or where William II married, or how many children he had. He did have a daughter named Mary, who somehow ended up in or near Mercer County, Kentucky. This daughter Mary {Polly} married an Alexander McMurtry in Mercer County, Kentucky in 1798. Hugh Smith was the bondsman. William Smith II was known as Billy Smith, Indian fighter. I have not been able to track where he fought, there are several men known as William Smith in the Revolutionary War. William and Elizabeth Smith, the elders, had children, James, George, William and Eleanor. Eleanor married a David Bales. There was a William Smith who took a licensure west of the Susquehanna River in 1735, I have not been able to connect him to my Smith family, but it is a possibility that he was an relative of one of our families. Thank You both for your answers. Judy Smith/Colorado
