My John Smith's 1849 will names a John Smith who predeceased him and a Barbara Young, but does not give their relationship to him. They appear to be his children, as their names are interspersed in John's will with the names of four of his children. One theory of several is that Barbara and John (Jr.?) are children who may have done something to displease their Dad. John and his wife Katy Gooden were in Westmoreland County when he died. He leaves to Katy the money from her father's estate that Peter Waggoner of Adams County PA is holding for her. Charles Good is a canadidate father for Katy. His administration distributes parts of an unnamed child's full share to John Smith, Peter Waggoner, and Jacob Hartmann. Other children and some orphaned grandchildren are named.
