I am from the Hans Georg line. They ended up in VA, where they used Ebert/Eppert/Eppard. But the Ebert line stayed as Ebert, as far as I can tell. If you type in Hans Michael Ebert in Ancestor, you should get the tree line that his family has done, and I find it to be accurate. You have to watch my line, the Hans Georg Ebert/Eppert/Eppard, as someone renamed all their ancestors as Eppard, even though the gravestone in Germany clearly says Ebert. Good luck.
