Dear Adams Co. Listers, If some kind soul out there could help me out with the following, I'd be very grateful. My g-g-grandfather, Abram Ziegler, born 2 Sept 1820 or 1821, says he was born in Cumberland Co., only it appears that in fact he was the son of one David Ziegler, born 1790, and buried at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Idaville, which is just sorta over the county line from Cumberland Co. (A few years ago I taxed everyone's patience in Cumberland Co. List with the search for my Zieglers from Mars. Thanks to some very helpful kind souls, I am making progress.) By the way, would someone in Idaville nowadays feel that they were closer to Carlisle than to Gettysburg? I see that the two cities are linked by the Old Carlisle Road, and am just wondering what the ties between these two cities were in the nineteenth century. Does anyone out there have access to this church's records? I do not have a baptismal record for Abram, nor do I know the name of his mother.
