Dear Sirs: We are trying to spread the word about an upcoming March event here in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The event is called "Unlocking Your Past 2005" and we would like to invite you to visit our new website: http://home.earthlink.net/~unlockingyourpast/ . As you may remember, in March 2003, the first "Unlocking Your Past" free family history community event opened to the public, and more than 300 visitors came to view the exhibits, hear the speakers, attend classes and get individual help with their genealogical research. The event received considerable attention in local newspapers, and live coverage on, the local NBC-TV station. Several visitors drove hundreds of miles and stayed in local motels to attend. Those who did, said they enjoyed the experience and had a great time. After the success of the first "Unlocking Your Past", the decision was made to try and make it a semi-annual affair. Accordingly, we proudly announce "Unlocking Your Past 2005" our second semi-annual event, which as before, will be open to the public, and completely free! This year, the event is being extended from three to four days. The scheduled dates are: Wednesday through Saturday, March 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th. We believe many lessons learned from hosting the first event will help us make "Unlocking Your Past 2005" even better and more rewarding. In particular, suggestions from visitors to the first event helped us learn what family history topics & exhibits were of greatest interest. For example, in 2003 there was overwhelming demand for personal help learning to use computers and the Internet for genealogy research. To better accommodate this demand, we have had broadband Internet installed. Make plans today to attend "Unlocking Your Past 2005." Schedule a day or two off work and get ready to share a memorable experience.
