    3. Hello Fellow Listers: First may I say I am in no way affiliated with this event. My husband just brought a flier home with info about this event - which sounds very interesting. It is going to be almost in "my backyard"! Donna Heller Zinn ************************* This is what is on the flier: GNAR Great North American Rendezvous 18th Century market Faire and Rifle Frolic April 21-24, 2005 Location: at the corner of Gobbler Knob Rd. & Rt. 997 [Upper Mifflin Twp., Cumberland Co.], near Newville, PA " Our camp represents that of a 1700's trade faire where neighbors, traders, hunters, and indians would gather to trade, buy, and sell supplies such as furs, produce, tools, crafts and other supplies needed for the coming year. It was a social gathering lasting a few days to a few weeks where frontier skills were practiced in competition, stories of high adventure swapped, and news of the events of the colonies, of family and friends were exchanged." They state in their flier that they are a non-profit group whose wish is to share our precious historical past with all who come to visit. They also state that part of their goal is to promote our Colonial history, and to provide our youth with the understanding of their Colonial heritage through demonstrations of life styles, crafts, and trades in preserving their heritage for the enjoyment of future generations.
