Hello, Since the Reed Family connections seem to be a hot topic at present, I thought I would try a little "fishing." I have a gg grandfather named John Reed who was living in the Adams County/Hanover, PA, York County areas. I have found that John Reed is a rather common name and have not been able to connect my John Reed with his family. On the off chance some list follower may have some information to share, let me introduce him. John Reed, born about 1814 in Pennsylvania, died May 6, 1898. He married Mary Dubs about 1836, probably at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Hanover, PA, since the Dubs Family is well established there. She died June 13, 1868. They had eight children: 1) John Emanuel Reed. 2) Sarah Reed, who married Isaac Shaffer. 3) Lucinda Reed, who married a Senft. 4) Jacob Reed. 5) Harriet Reed, who married Michael Hoke. 6) Levi Reed, who married Mary Oaster and, after her death a Susan? 7) Maria E.
