I'm not sure where Mary Jemison was born, but the Jemison family moved into the Buchanan Valley area of Adams County in 1754 and in 1755 she was abducted by Native Americans and lived with the tribe until her death in New York State many years later. I recall the Adams County Historical Society ( _www.achs-pa.org_ (http://www.achs-pa.org) ) newsletter had, sometime in the past few years, an extensive report on the Mary Jemison story.
