Knut, I find James Innis listed on Page 47, #332, (1) A-2 (the last two numbers refer to the map) of the "Manor of the Maske". Now, here's where it gets a little confusing. He is listed as the original owner of the property, in May 1740, also on the McPherson list in 1762, and on the Warrent for the property, which was dated 1785, 198 a. 120 p. John Hosack is listed as the recipient of the Penn agent or patent deed in 1785. It also says that this property is not shown on the large manor map. I have the book, but not the large map. Those warrants were long in coming, so James Innis may have sold the property or died before the warrant arrived. One of my ancestors, Henry Rowan is listed as the original settler on the land in 1739, but he didn't get his warrant until 1805. He died in 1807, at the age of 88. Another ancestor, Thomas Latta died in 1776, without a will, and his children were still messing with the estate in 1828. They got the warrent probably in 1797, if I read the records right. It's all confusing, but still very interesting. In answer to your question about whether the original settler is on the list-in some cases, yes, in others, no. Thomas Latta was not the original settler, but Henry Rowan was, in my case. Ellen Rowan Taylor -- ERT
