Smith; "The French and Indian War in Adams and Franklin Counties": Background will be given on the French and Indian War and the impact on the local area's early settlers. There were several raids into present day Adams County and several citizens were killed or taken prisoner by the French and Indian forces. Saturday, May 8, Bus Trip to long forgotten sites associated with the French & Indian War will include the area of Virginia Mills, the statue of Mary Jamison and a guided tour of Fort Loudon, Franklin County.
