    2. Please excuse the multiple postings - just wanted to remind everyone about this Saturday's meeting. Frederick County Genealogical Society's May Lecture will be on "A Sense of Place: An Illustrated History of Frederick County, Maryland" Presented by MS Mary K. Mannix Manager of the Maryland Room at the C. Burr Artz Central Library of Frederick County Public Library System. Date: Saturday, May 10, 2003 Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Place: (annual spring away lecture) - the new C. Burr Artz Central Library 110 East Patrick St. Frederick, MD Parking is in public garage and parking lot on the west side - entrance off of East Patrick St. Please remember to get a parking token - otherwise parking in the parking lots are $1 for the entire day. Ms. Mannix will give a wonderful slide show illustrating the history of the county - and present other viewing angles for the history of the county. In addition - Mary will be presenting the forgotten, unknown, or otherwise little used sources of family history and genealogy that are available in the Maryland Room archives. MS Mannix has earned an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science from Hood College in 1982, continued her studies with a masters in American History with a Museum Studies Certificate from the University of Delaware.  She has also earned a masters degree in Library Science with concentration in archival studies from the College of Library and Informational Services in College Park from the University of Maryland. In addition to being a member and volunteer of many associations such as Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Association, Maryland Library Association, board member and moderator for Humanities and Social Science Online, and the American Library Association, MS Mannix has authored many articles and given presentations from local to national associations.    Her numerous honors and awards support FRECOGS confidence in her knowledge and ability when it comes to Frederick County. FRECOGS next monthly lecture will be back at Homewood at Crumland Farms on June 14 - at 1 PM - where Mr. Jack Schrodel will present the first in a series of "Meet My Ancestor." Jack will give us his famous talk - about his famous ancestor - Revolutionary War Hero - Lawrence Everhart. He will tell us about his ancestor, explain how he researched his history and genealogy, and give us the related families descending from his famous ancestor.
