Good Evening to the list, I found my John PLATT and his son Henry on the 1800 tax list for Mt. Pleasant Twp., Adams/York Co., Pa. It is assumed that all the PLATT children were baptized at Conewago Chapel and the early records containing this information are lost. I'm trying to use the tax list as an aide to estimate a date of birth for Henry (as early as 1774 and as late as 1780), listed as a 'single man' in 1799 for the 1800 taxes. At what age is one considered a 'single man' for the tax lists of 1800? Thanks, Jane researching PLATT in Germany & Mt. Pleasant Twp., Adams Co (1747 to 1801 or so)
