Deed 2X-348 on April 5, 1813 Andrew Hartman of Adams county bought 85 Acres from Richard Peters in Monahan(Monaghan) Twp York Co. The only Andrew in Adams at that time is from Latimore Twp which is on the border with York Co. From then on Jacob Hartman is taxed on the 85 Acres. Deed 3I-530 April 27, 1828 Andrew Hartman Deeds land to Jacob Hartman. I didn't see the deed. I think this shows that Andrew is Jacob's father. Thanks for the info. We have a DNA for my husband's cousin Robert Hartman 11 Nov 1917 and have had some good matches according to the company's analysis but get stopped when we come to really matching people. Our family is from Pennsylvania and Ohio and the other close DNA person is from W.Virginia and Illinois. So at this time, we are at a stand still. My documented info is Jacob Hartman 3 Aug 1820-20 Apr 1884 in York co, Pa. and then his father Jacob Hartman 19 Jan. 1789-12 Feb. 1858. I don't know where this Hartman was born other than the census says Pa. He is buried in York County. I would like to believe that Andrew is the next older generation but this still doesn't connect us with the family from W.V. & Ill. So we keep struggling. Thanks again for your help. Hello, I am looking for anyone who might have a copy of G. Robert Thompson's obituary in the January 12, 1959 issue of The Gettysburg Compiler. When I visited the Adams County Historical Society, I copied it down on my notepad. I should have had it photocopied. But, sometimes you just don't think of things. If anyone has a copy of this obituary, please let me know. I will gladly pay any costs invovled if you can snail mail me. Of, if you have a copy of it as a computer file, that would be wonderful, too. Thanks so much in advance to anyone who can help me out.
