BTW, I found my ggg-grandmother's birth in 1828 registered in the Adams County Courthouse records.  They kept the birth records in a book and each person had one line. Elizabeth- I can tell you for certain that the Adams County Courthouse kept a ledger with all of these records--I've obtained some copies for my family members.
