Does anyone know David S. Yake who, at one time in I believe the early 1980s lived in New Oxford, PA? I would like to get in contact with him or his family. Thanks for any help! Don Lerew [email protected]
I did a google search and found 2 companies: 1. National Copying Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan 2. National Copying Company of Atlanta, Georgia And both discussed some very old photos. Looking for any info on HARRITT, TOPPER and MENTZER between 1750 and 1850. Happy to share info I have. Thank you. [email protected]
I'm new to the listing. A renewed interest since visiting Gettysburg last month. Would anyone on this listing know of the ancestry of the family that owned the Bushman Farm on the National Park site? Thank you, Judy Bushman Card Washington state
Interestingly, I bought my copy of this book from Family Line a number of years ago. It indicates no author, no publication date and no ISBN number. It is also 305 pages, not 317. My book does include birth dates, baptism dates and many witnesses/sponsors, and additional information where available. It is in the same format as the series of 3 books of church records for York County, which were done by Wright and Bates. I believe the original poster's complaint was that the book she had seen did not include the baptism dates, sponsors, etc. Is the book now carried by Willow Bend a different book? Hello again Fellow Listers: I have received many, many replies to my previous posting concerning the book I'm in search of - Adams Co. Church Records of the 18th Century. I had posted that I thought it was not Wright who published the church record book in question. I had initially thought he was the one who had done various other church records book. Thank you for "putting me right"! It was Humphrey who did the other books! I am so very sorry for my mistake - I hope I did not cause anyone problems by being adamant in my postings about Wright being the author of these books. Thank you again for all the replies to my previous posting. You folks are always such a great help! Donna Heller Zinn of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of this book for sale? Is the Family Line Publications still in operation? I have found this book for sale on BigTreeBooks.com website however the book is by Wright. Wright did many books on church records from all over the state. But - this is a big BUT..... he only listed the birthdates from the original records - usually - and not the full data from the church records - such as the baptism date. When he would find only a baptism date, he put down that the birth was approximately the year of the baptism. Thanks in advance for any help. Hi, I am looking for information on some Hill's. Isaac Hill who was born 1693 in London, England and died 1798 Plumstead, Bucks, Pa. I don't have his wifes name either "first name" or "Maiden name" His father possibly could be Abraham Hill b 1635 London, England These dates could be approx. dates. Looking for any and all info on them i.e. obits etc. With one of his children being a Richard Hill b/1720/Md. So they would have moved to Md sometime before that, whether as a child or after grown up. www.iowaghosttowns.com
The Adams County Historical Society records indicate that both George and Elizabeth were buried at Evergreen Cemetery, section L&R. Although George died before Evergreen Cemetery was incorporated (in 1853), Evergreen Cemetery has a number of graves of individuals who were reinterred from other cemeteries, which would explain how he came to be buried there.
There is a listing of cemetery's at the website ( http://www.rootsweb.com/~paadams/ ) - some have links as does Evergreen. Evergreen has some "notables" listed but not all. I have been told that the Evergreen Cemetery records include the burial of my ancestors GEORGE BLANK and his wife ELISABETH GRIESEMER BLANK. George (1759-1849) would have died before the cemetery began, but Elisabeth (1758-1854) may be buried there. How do I access the cemetery records? Is it possible that George's record is there even though he died before the cemetery began? Helen Schlueter [email protected]
Thanks to all for the directions to the cemetery.
