Hi and thanks for responding and for the information you sent.  At this point I am not positive but I think Rebecca (Ness)'s parents were John and Sarah.  I found Rebecca in the 1850 Springfield, York County census as follows: John - age 53 - Farmer Sarah - age 49 Rebecca - 13 John - 10 Amos - 6 Reuben - 5 Josiah - 1 All born in PA The age for Rebecca is about right so I'm guessing it's her. My Great-grandparents (to my best knowledge) is Carrie (Witmyer) & Alvin Rhodes. According to a reference, ALVIN E. RHODES & CARRIE A.WITMYER were married 11/1/1903. Does anyone have any additional information about this family? There daughter Caroline Louise Rhodes (later Swartz) is my grandmother. Thanks Bill Heaps
