Hi Joan, We did get an answer from Debra and she identifified it as the correct family. Here's the copy paste from her letter. Hi Joan and June, I hope I'm not butting in here in the wrong place.... and I hope I'm putting this on the right thread. Thank you both for your input on Jacob. The Arnolds certainly seemed to like that name. My Jacob is the one who was born in 1822. This date would be consistent with the ages that have been recorded for him in every year I've found him in the census records (1850, 60, 70 and 80). His son, Amos (my great great grandfather) was born in 1849. He was not with the family in 1870 and as he was not yet married I'm assuming he was off boarding with someone and working. Thanks again for your help. I welcome any and all comments about the Arnolds, Leibs and particularly Jacob. By the way, Joan, can you help me with that Mr. Syd download? Does that take up a lot of space on the hard drive and does it help to read some of those documents? I couldn't read any of those items from the newspapers, but was afraid to download that Mr. Syd thingee. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you in advance. June
