I show John Arnold and Mary Jacobs as Jacob's parents. I have Samuel and Barbara's son Jacob as being born in 1811. June- You could well be correct. I did NOT have a date for Jacob son of Samuel and Barbara--only for my Lucy of about 1817. In any case, the Jacob who married Sallie Leib would have to be somewhere in this Arnold family. I have not checked the census records for Samuel and Barbara as yet. Maybe you can connect Mary Jacobs in your line somewhere. Please let me know if this is of any help. I don't think the census records would tell us what we are looking for in this case at this early date. The children wouldn't be named. I've been to Samuel and Barbara's graves--as I recall they are buried at Mummert's Meeting House cemetery--I don't know if there are records for them or children or grandchildren at this church. 3. Hi Joan and June, I hope I'm not butting in here in the wrong place.... and I hope I'm putting this on the right thread. Thank you both for your input on Jacob. The Arnolds certainly seemed to like that name. My Jacob is the one who was born in 1822. This date would be consistent with the ages that have been recorded for him in every year I've found him in the census records (1850, 60, 70 and 80). His son, Amos (my great great grandfather) was born in 1849. He was not with the family in 1870 and as he was not yet married I'm assuming he was off boarding with someone and working. Thanks again for your help. I welcome any and all comments about the Arnolds, Leibs and particularly Jacob.
