Sandra- Just because someone has a son living in 1806 doesn't mean that he has living descendants today. The source of my information was the head librarian at the time at the York County Historical Society who said James had been researched thoroughly and was not known to have ANY living descendants. 3. You said that James Smith had no children; this is NOT the same thing as saying he had no descendants. James Smith had 2 children, living at the time of his death; whether they had children of their own I don't know......yet. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2001 12:27 PM Subject: Re: [PAYorkGEN] James Smith > In a message dated 4/15/01 9:25:24 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] > writes: > > > According to a bio from the History of York County, he had at least one > > child, James, for it says that Mr. Smith's tomb-stone was "erected by his > > son James, in the yard of the English Presbyterian Chruch at York.
