    1. Gemmill/Arthur/Thompson
    2. I have a Dr. Thomas Franklin Arthur son of Richard Arthur of Harford County Maryland and mother Mary Jane Jordan Arthur of York, PA. Dr. Arthur was born in Iowa as his parents had migrated there in the mid 1850's. Dr. Arthur was born abt. 1859. After his father's death in the Civil War (died at Vicksburg) the family moved back to the York area. At one time Dr. Arthur was listed in 1900 census living with another dentist a Eliah Freeston? & family. (spelling probably wrong). Later Dr. Arthur returned to his father's birth place, Harford County MD. In the 1910 & 1920 census two ladies were living with Dr. Arthur. There names were Nannie (born abt. 1882) & Jennie (born abt. 1886) Gemmill. Both born I believe in PA. When Dr. Arthur died in 1925 he left all that he owned to these two ladies, excluding his immediate family. In other research of the Arthur name, I came across a Rev. William Arthur from Scotland and his wife Agnes Gemmill. Both came to this county in the late 1700's. Lived around the Lancaster, PA area then migrated to Ohio. I have also come across the Gemmill name in connection with my other branch which is Thompson. I am trying to figure out the Gemmill/Arthur connection if there is one? Dr. Arthur is the grandson of John Arthur born in PA abt. 1785 and Clemency Thompson born in MD abt. late 1700's. Sorry, I am in the process of moving so I am behind in my checking. Thank you,
