A George McCann was in the congregation of Round Hill Presbyterian Church, located in Hopewell.....the earliest record of him in the church is 1794....this was a Seceder's Presbyterian Sect, and the minister was the Rev. Cathcart - 1782-1800. There were the 2 births, Jno, bapt 1795 and George bapt. 1797...these both took place in the Hopewell Congregation. The birth dates are not given; only the baptism date. In his records, some are births 10-14 years before the baptisms, and others are of infants....so, there's no way of knowing...however, if the baptisms were years after the birth, why not have them both baptized at the same time...and, it appears that those delayed are specified...so, my best guess would be that these were infant baptisms.. My own family were in the Hopewell congregation, and were baptized as infants by Cathcart.
