    1. [PAYorkGEN] Wambaugh, Shultz -York Cty. Lookups
    2. Hi: I have been seeing the flurry of look-up requests and could use some help if you can. You are all so wonderful to do this, I can't believe it. Could you look up: Albert William Wambaugh born June 25, 1872 in York He died Sept. 04, 1942. He was married to Clara A. Shultz on February 05, 1890 in York County. She was born August 12, 1872 and died Oct. 12, 1935. Albert is buried in Longstown Cemetery in York. He owned "A.W. Wambaugh, Cheap Cash Grocery" somewhere in York and they lived above the store. Albert is my husbands great grandfather and we have no information on his or her siblings, parents or ancestors. It is possible he is in the line of Georg Wanbach III (Nancy Bannister's line) and his father's name may have been Jacob R. Wambaugh - in Springgarden Township(?). My husband's grandfather was George Washington Wambaugh born in York on June 19, 1890. He married Ann Julia Hunt who was from Parkton, Maryland. George in his early years lived at 705 E. Prospect St., York. Thanks for any input or help. Your efforts are wonderful "random acts of kindness." Any info on the Wambaughs, Wanbachs or Shultz's is greatly appreciated. 3. Letty, This book was published in 1886, so the more current info isn't available. What I did find was as follows: William and Lewis WAMBAUGH , and John and John H WANBAUGH in the Civil War. Catherine WANBAUGH married to Alexander LOUCKS 5 Feb 1867. She was daughter of John and Mary WANBAUGH. Further there are other references to the LOUCKS-WAMBAUGH connection. You may wish to see if any LOUCKS researchers have a WAM/WANBAUGH connection. 1. [PAYorkGEN] BURNS, & request for advice
    2. Nan Lambert
    3. Hello, list! I'm completely new to PA genealogy, so I'm hoping some of you kind folks will point me in the right direction(s). I'm looking for information on my gggg/grandfather Samuel Burns. He was born Sept. 17, 1754, in York Co., PA. This is from his Rev. War pension file. There is also an IGI listing on familysearch.org, giving same birthdate, and father's name William. By sometime in the 1770's, Samuel was in York Co., SC, where he spent the rest of his life. Whether he went there alone, or with some or all of his family, I don't know. He, his wife, and some descendants are buried in a Presbyterian churchyard. So my questions are these: (1) anyone else out there looking for Samuel? (2) where are the best places for me to start looking, either internet or by mail, for possible info? Are there tax lists? Church records? Thanks for any info/advice/etc. Nan Lambert
