RootsWeb servers operate on a Linux system which isn't subject to Windows viruses. The Beagle/Bagle virus works by spoofing or forging the sender address (such as my address and "Charflax") and also copying the subject and message content from the infected computer. In all likelihood this means that SOMEONE on the list is infected with this virus and I'd hope that everyone scans their computer with an updated virus scanner -- but any viruses you are receiving are NOT coming FROM RootsWeb or coming through the list -- and they are not coming from the supposed sender addresses. I'd remind everyone that RootsWeb list mail will not come with attachments other than digests that some email programs treat as attachments on the receiving end. Joan, co-admin

Thanks for the help you've given me on this. I'm most appreciative. Debra ---- Debra- I had not seen your message when I replied to June. I think with June's help and my records you have probably found both Jacob and Sallie. I'm certain these are the right LEIB and ARNOLD families. I descend from TWO LEIB lines--that of Johannes LEIB who arrived in PA in 1727 and also from Ulrich LEIB who arrived on another ship the same year. I had long thought the two families were probably connected but had not found evidence to tie Ulrich to the better researched Johannes LEIPP line. I recently saw another GEDCOM on WorldConnect which seems to have provided the missing links to tie both lines together showing that Ulrich and Johannes were brothers. I've not checked this out but the pieces seem to fit. See Nina Harkey's WorldConnect GEDCOM: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=harzed&id=I07029 Joan
Hi Joan, We did get an answer from Debra and she identifified it as the correct family. Here's the copy paste from her letter. Hi Joan and June, I hope I'm not butting in here in the wrong place.... and I hope I'm putting this on the right thread. Thank you both for your input on Jacob. The Arnolds certainly seemed to like that name. My Jacob is the one who was born in 1822. This date would be consistent with the ages that have been recorded for him in every year I've found him in the census records (1850, 60, 70 and 80). His son, Amos (my great great grandfather) was born in 1849. He was not with the family in 1870 and as he was not yet married I'm assuming he was off boarding with someone and working. Thanks again for your help. I welcome any and all comments about the Arnolds, Leibs and particularly Jacob. By the way, Joan, can you help me with that Mr. Syd download? Hi Joan, I found Jacob and Sarah in the 1870 census. At this time there were only three children listed: John b. 1850 Matilda b. 1852 Oliver b. 1864 The dates on the parents were the same as we both had. This was on page 431, image 146, 1870 census of York, Pa. Hope this helps. June

I don't have a location for the family or dates for the other children. Hope this helps. June
