Hi Steven I was sure you had typed Catherine instead of Susan, thats why I did not question it. I agree with the same thing you have, I strongly feel the Susan was probably Susan Rau Rohrbaugh. I decend from the Dubs family. Sue

The name of the person is Marlin Ryan. He is a trumpet teacher in the York area. Usually he has an ad in the paper but of course today when I looked it was not there. I will keep checking around for a phone number or address. I just remembered you were also curious about Lutheran churches in the area, I don't remember that there was a Lutheran church in Emigsville, it was a small village. There was and still is Christ Lutheran in Manchester about 4 miles away but I am betting they were mambers of one of the York Lutheran churches 4 miles away in theopposite direction. There was Christ Lutheran there which dates back to the 1700's, I can find the name of other Lutheran churches in York if you want this, I will need to do it by mail as my contacts there are not using computers ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darlene De Luco" <tichi@pacbell.net> To: <PA-YORK-GEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 14, 2004 6:54 PM Subject: Re: [PAYorkGEN] New Emigsville Band > I am betting you are correct about the name and the band. Are you sure the town was New Emigsville? Could it have been Emigsville and they got a new Band? I looked up in my Gibson's History of York Co. and Emigsville had a town band in the 1880's. Then I tried the web for a listing of towns with bands and Emigsville came up as having a band but the page was no longer there. I grew up about 4 miles from Emigsville and I remember they would have an ox roast and I think there was a band that played. This was in the 1940's It was a small town in those days, ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darlene De Luco" <tichi@pacbell.net> To: <PA-YORK-GEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 13, 2004 8:49 AM Subject: [PAYorkGEN] New Emigsville Band > This is my first posting to the list and I would be very appreciative > for any help or suggestions I may receive regards a band, possibly as > brass band, the community named New Emigsville had circa 1920. Hi, Nancy: On the 1st page of the site, on the left side, there is a button marked "select a department". Click on that, go to "Archives". On the Archives page, click on "Go to the Website" (tap directly on the word "website"). Then click the box marked "Information Available Through Archives." Good luck! Thank you for the updates on Emanuel and Susanna. I just started this family branch so I appreciate the input. Brian Shaffer
Steve I agree with you, along with a couple other searchers. Maybe Susan's middle name was Lau. Another searcher told me that Susan Rohrbaugh that married Emanuel Dubs, had the same named children that Brian gave us a day or two ago. I think all of us are talking about the same Susan. Just my two cents worth. Jan, I have a Volume 28, September 1966, No 8 cover of My Church which list a William Harry Ketterman that served 1872-1903. I believe the churches included Bethlehem (Steltz), St Jacobs, Trinity and Zion (Shaffer's) Church. Brian Shaffer
