There were even multiple Nicholas MEYERs in the same exact area at the same exact time. I've never seen any convincing evidence to show where the Nicholas MEYER that you mention in your message was born although the Palatinate might be a possibility. In addition to the 12 children you have listed for Nicholas, Sr. I also have a Susan, born 1755 who married Andrew Albert. They had at least 3 children: Jacob, Anna, and Anna Margaret who married Peter Wolford. For the children of Nicholas, Jr. I have the twins that you have listed as follows: Conrad b 28 Setp 1775 Lower Bermudian d unknown m Caroline Shotts George b 28 Sept 1775 d unknown ...but I have in my notes that both died in infancy. There are a few other minor discrepancies but basically we have the same information otherwise. Joan

    3. HI, The records I have and supplemental I had approved were for Nicholas Sr. . Others had gone in on him and my documentation was accepted. I did work very hard and a long time on it. As for Johnnes (John) the notes I have from a paper done by a man in Gettysburg says he was referred to as the oldest son in his father's will and probably born in the mid 1840's. He was listed as a sponser for the baptism of a child in the Lower Bermudian Church on 21 June 1761 and again in 1764. He supposedly married Margreth Sherman but no record has been found. The Lower Bermudian records list the birth of Johann Jacob born Sept 23, 1783 baptized in 1783. The article say there is some indication her may have moved to Cumberland Co, PA. No record of death or burial was found by either John or his wife. This paper was done in 1987. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, December 26, 2000 2:18 PM Subject: Re: [PAYork] William Myers > In a message dated 12/26/00 4:50:29 PM Eastern Standard Time, > [email protected] writes: > > > I know this family was a real > > struggle. 3. Joan, Thanks. What I looked for on his list and found was a Nicholas Myers married to Anna Albert if I remember correctly and Nicholas Jr married to a Mary. Thanks for the update to put into my data base. I come down through Henry son of Nicholas Jr and Salome. I know this family was a real struggle. I did the documentation NSDAR so know I had somekind of documentation for everything. I might not have had for the Palinate area but don't remember without looking up. 3. Hi, I read your information on the Myers family. In particular I was looking for Nicholas SR. and Nicholas Jr. from York County. The information I have differs somewhat from what you had. I have Nicholas Myers Sr. b circa 1725 in Palatinate area of Germany married 7 Nov 1743 , died 1787. He married Anna Margaretha Albert born circa 1727 died after 1787 in York County. They had the following children: John born 20 Sept 1747 died circa 1793 married circa 1776 to Margaret Sherman in York Co, PA David b 27 March 1749 died Nov 26, 1805 in Berlin, Adams Co, PA m Anna Marie Sultzbach Nicholas Jr b 1750 d 10 Nov 1823 buried in Bermudian Lutheran Cemetery, York Co. maried 1st Salmone Weaver daughter of Conrad about 1775 married second Mary Chronister about 1820 Barbara b 1752 Lower Bermudian, PA d after 1787 Anna Margaret b 1753 died after 1798 married Anthony Kimmel Ludwig b 17 Jan 1757 d 17 Aug 1829, buried in Lower Bermudian m 1783 Catherine Erb m 1808 Barbara Dill Jacob b 15 Sept 1758 d 17 Oct 1840 b Lower Bermudian m after 1783 Hannah Smith Mary b circa 1760 d unknown m last name Weaver William b 16 May 1762 d after 1791 m Louisa Erb Elizabeth b 1764 d unknown m aft 1787 Michael Miller Philip b 8 june 1767 d 30 Sept 1839 b Lower Bermudian m aft 1787 Anna Maria Heikes Peter b 2 July 1769 d unknown married ? How do you > get so much genealogy accomplished with children? > > Merry Christmas to all... > > Jan Lund > Jan, I have been doing genealogy since the age of 4 years old actively.  I learned to read so that I could read headstones at that age.  Previous to that I drove my parents nuts demanding to stop at every cemetery that we passed on the way to anywhere just to look at the old headstones.  When I learned of the LDS Family History Centers as a lad, I then would want to go there often to read microfilms.  As the years have passed, I have tempered my need to stop at every cemetery and go to the LDS Family History Centers often with the need to complete school work, make a living, and raise a family.   When on the road with my company, I still stop by cemeteries. I still read genealogy books for entertainment.  Fortunately my beautiful bride loves to do this as well. Jeanine works for Delta Airlines which affords us the opportunity to travel cheaply.  I am a Sr. Applications Engineer (Data/Internet/Voice) for AT&T at the region level.   In between all that goes on in a house full of teanagers, we do manage a little bit of time for our advocation which of course is genealogy.  We have an office in our home that is filled with books, a couple of PCs, and a microfilm reader.  We have enough on our book shelves alone to keep us busy for years let alone the 300 or so emails that we receive everyday.  Sometimes we will go a full week without doing anything with genealogy if you can believe that.   Right now we are getting a nursery ready for the new baby.  Jeanine is due in June.  We thought that we were done with our babies ten years ago.  So we are buying cribs and the like because we gave them all away long ago.  We are finishing bedrooms for our children in the basement (just moved into a new home last June).  We are getting ready to send Brad (turns 19 in Feb) to Argentina for 2 years on a Church mission.  We will have our oldest home from Guatemala next September.  Our daughter is turning 17 on Tuesday and is in the midst of the dating thing after doing school work of course (she is a straight A student).  And from there on down we have very active boys with active friends who seem to think our home is the place to be...so we must work just to keep the fridge full. This morning our snow on the front lawn has melted to about 6 inches worth with the threat of new snow coming by afternoon. We are indeed very blessed!  Merry Christmas! Don (& Jeanine)

The surnames are - JONES, ROBERTS, EVANS, WILLIAMS. As you can see, they are all very unique last names .... :) I would be interested to hear from anyone with one of these rare surnames in their family tree from York County. 3. If we ask ourselves the questions " Does this email pertain to genealogy? Does it deserve being archived for future reading? I believe that we might view what we send to the lists differently. At this time of the year we like to send good wishes, etc to our friends, but perhaps would do better to send them to the individual, rather than the many. Right now I'm being inundated with emails, from the various lists I belong to, and, while I understand the emotions, feel that if folks would remember the archiving aspect, they might be less prone to send seasonal greetings, etc.... I don't think that this is "bah humbug", but just good sense!
