Barb, before you go to all the trouble check out the PA genweb page New Page 6 and see if it is in the collection that Myself and others have donated to the site. I don't recall it being there , But check. Also about 20 years ago all the cemeteries that were known of, were transcribed and are listed in the York Co Historical Trust. However there again there have been people added since they were transcribed. it is a fairly large cemetery you are talking about and if you do transcribe it , You may want to consider contacting the boy scouts to help with the project. Not only will it make the work go quicker but the boys will get credit for doing it. Just a thought....Melissa Fitzkee
Dear Barb, What a nice person you are!!!!! I wish I could help other than offer moral support, but since I live in Michigan, I can't. I don't know if you've done this before, but I feel obligated to give some advice. Don't go alone. Don't go on a wet day. The mosquitos will come out in droves and they're as big as small dogs. They'll chase you right out of the cemetery. I've been chased and they can fly a LOT faster than I can run. Be sure to take repellent and a bee-bee gun to ward of the more aggressive mosquitos. It's a lovely thing you're going to do. Genealogists now, and in the future, will benefit from your effort. Thank you. Arlene
Hello everyone. I am new to York county (only been here since Sept.). I pass the cemetery at the intersection of 74 (Carlisle Rd) and 238 (Church Rd) daily and am wondering if 1) It has a name (haven't been able to locate one anywhere) and 2) Has it been transcribed? When it warms up a bit, I would like to go out & transcribe it and add it to the ones already online, especially the older section of it, where time will soon "erase" what is written. But I need to find out if it has already been done or not. Thanks! Barb email: [email protected]

Hi all, I found a website last night that listed the history of the Swing family. It was exciting to find after getting the Swing name from Lawrence Etter's will yesterday. However, Lawrence Etter Sr. b c1753 d 1805 calls his wife Mary throughout the will, and the kids grandfather Michael Swing. When looking at the website, it lists Anna Margaretta Swing as Lawrence's spouse. Is this the same woman? Was Lawrence Etter Sr married twice? Do I just have the wrong guy? Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks! I don't have a Mary that matches the information you have there is a very good website online for Welty research at http://servalstudios.com/welty/. They might be able to help you since they cover a wider range. Just tried again after receiving your email and it worked great until I tried the third cemetery listing and it locked up again - must be my computer or connection. Thanks for your reply. Might I suggest that when someone answers a query for you, you acknowledge receiving it......that's the only way we, on the sending end, have of knowing you got the information you asked for , and that we sent you. here's a new entry from the weekly update; First Trinity Reform Church 1800-1846 http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/inddbs/4938.htm

Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834 January 26, 1789 September 27, 1791 McKean, Robert. Executors: Thomas and Alexander McKean. Cumberland Township. Children: John, Mary m. ---- Trimble, Hugh, Thomas, James, Alexander, and Martin. Grandchildren: Agness and John Trimble. If you will email York Archives at; [email protected] give them the name and date...they will tell you what records they have, and how much each costs. sometimes, for example, there is an estate inventory available, which I always find so interesting...a peek into the lives of your ancestors. Hi everyone, I'm searching for information about George Reneker/ Renaker/Reinker/Rennaker/Renniker or other variations of spellings born about 1811 and married about 1834 Rebecca Roller born abt 1816 there could also be several variation of this surname. I know Rennekers were around York and Adams Counties in the early 1800's Also if anyone know anything about the Vadus surname and if a Vadus family member is related to anyone in the Renaker or Roller families. Thanks James

Sandra, Thanks for your help. I'm just getting started in this area so I don't know exactly what I do need. I found out that an ancestor John Carson was an active Quaker in the area after his emigration from Ireland ca 1750. I'll get back to you when I have a clearer picture. John I have the Warrington MM records from ca 1738 through 1800....the following > Carsons are mentioned, in addition to the ones listed below; Andrew, Jane, & > Nancy. If interested in what is recorded for any/all, just let me know > which. > This MM was first established in 1734, after obtaining approval from the > Sadsbury MM in Lancaster County. Meetings were held in private homes at > first, and the the log meeting house was build in 1745. Vicki, Thanks; luckily my library has Walmer's book. I'll take a look at it. John There are some Carsons mentionned (Mary, Mergreate, Patrick and Richard) in > '100 years at warrington' compiled by margaret b. walmer, heritage books, > inc > Vicki O > [email protected]
