    1. [PAYorkGEN] George Adam Stump
    2. Sandra Ferguson
    3. These are the wills I find that contain the name George Stump...none mention the name Christopher. I also checked the spelling Stumpf, which seems to be the more Germanic spelling, and one you need to keep in mind when researding. I didn't find Christopher or George Adam Stump, but did find several Stumpfs in the Kreut Creek (St. James) Lutheran Church inHellam Twp. What I found interesting is that there was also a member whose name was George Adam....could this have been the namesake of "your" George Adam Stump? Hope you find a clue in the wills...wish there had been more. Sandra Ps.... if you would put the ACTUAL subject in the subject slot.....in your case, George Adam Stump, rather than the meaningless lookups, etc........it would make it considerable easier to "browse" the archives and see what the postings are REALLY about. Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834 Lancaster co July 7, 1792 December 17, 1792 STUMP, ELIAS Bro.: George Stump. Nephews: John and Jacob Stump (sons of George Stump). Ex. Bernard Man and David Barr. 1. [PAYorkGEN] FETROW various spellings York Co. PA
    2. lornajune
    3. Do we have any FETROW cousins left in York Co.,PA? Our great great grandmother Christina FETROW (b. 1832) married (1854) Milo ADAMSON in Miami CO., IN. We are having trouble connecting with our FETROW line. The various spellings of Fettrow, Fetro, and even Fedrow, and Tedrow are not ruled out. Either her mother or grandmother came to PA from Germany as a young girl, and maiden name was Schmidt, and she married a Schmidt or maiden name was Smith and she married a Smith or one form of these names with the other. Any information, help or tips on the FETROW's of York County, PA., would be very much appreciated. Thankyou for taking the time to read this. Lorna June in NC

    3. Gloria, Gibson's History of York County, Pa, 1886. Apologies for the delay. Ira not found as a SEACHRIST, SEACRIST, SECHRIST, nor as a SECRIST, although biographies for Rev L K Secrist, Jacob SEACRIST b 1829, and Jacob SECHRIST b. 1845 do exist. One Charles Sechrist mentioned, whose daughter Mary A. married in 1869 to Samuel CURRAN. We have a Charles Seachrist who served in the Civil War, page 706. We have a Charles F Sechrist, York city, who served as secretary of a board to establish a market in the south side of the city, 1878 (page 522) and Charles F Sechrist who served on the board (1886) of the Duke Street Methodist Episcopal church. And that's about as good as it gets. Lots of other first names. HECKERTS - the only two Johns were children of other parents. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. (with the S) JACOB'S mills, four miles east of Hanover, described in the flooding of 1884. page 479 Mills. page 686. "One of the old landmarks of Paradise Township is the place known as Jacobs Mills in the upper end of the township, near the Adams County border. The land was originally taken up by a land warrant issued to George Jacobs in 1750. Soon after this date a mill was erected which has, ever since that event, been owned by a lineal descendant of the original settler. At present it is owned by Amos Jacobs, who has a wool carding-mill, grist-mill and saw-mill. they are run by water and steam. The old stone mansion near by was erected in 1780." Heidelberg Township, page 694. "... Jacobs' Mill, Iron Ridge and Menges Mills are stations on the Shortline Railroad, at each of which places there is a post office and a store..."
