    1. [PAYorkGEN] SCOTT/FERGUSON York Co.
    2. Dave Carmine
    3. Hi All, I am looking for information on SCOTT's in Lower Chanceford Twp., York County, specifically Gavin SCOTT (b ca 1811) that married Mary Ann FERGUSON Jan. 19, 1837. There are several Scott's that are sons of Gavin Scott (died 1820). John (died 1825), Cunningham (died 1825), Nathaniel (died 1863), Gavin, Jr (died 1822). are all in the area. Only one with a will is Gavin Jr. On the 1850 census, Nathaniel is 60 years old. Also, on the 1850 census, living next door to Gavin and family is Sarah Scott also 60 years old. If Gavin's father is deceased, could Sarah be Gavin's mother? But who is Sarah's husband? Also - would love to find out anything about Mary Anee FURGUSON's family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Harriett

    1. [PAYorkGEN] Samuel Brillhart 1757-1815
    2. Sue Stuart
    3. I am descended from Samuel BRILLHART who married Magdalena DANNER. I found in the book, Brillharts of America, that he was the son of Samuel Brillhart and Esther Smidt. Then in another book, A Light in the Valley, it says Samuel Brillhart was the son of your Peter Brillhart. I am confused. Who is the real father of Samuel, b 1757, d. 1815? Does anyone know or can you tell me where I can find out? Thanks, Sue

    1. [PAYorkGEN] Nace/Smith info needed
    2. Hello Seeking info on George and Mary Smith. George was born abt. 1809 and Mary was born abt. 1812. Their children and their ages are as follows: Elizabeth (1 Feb 1835), Mary (abt. 1836), Rebecca (abt. 1837), Daniel (abt. 1839), Alexander (abt. 1841), John (abt. 1843), Catharine (abt. 1845), Leah (abt. 1847), Emelina Jane (abt. 1849), and Susanna (aft. 1850). The following are who the daughters married: Elizabeth (Henry Shindler), Mary Ann (Edman Becker), Emelina Jane (Jesse Falkenstine). George and Mary are listed in the 1880 N. Codorus Twp. census. While doing some more searching, I also found a George Smith and Mary Nass that were married in 1834. This would be a good match, since their first child was born in 1835. I am thinking Mary may be a Nace/Ness/Noss, etc. Also found a George Smith, born 12 Sept 1808 to John and Margaret Smith. This would also match his age at the time of the census. Can anyone help? 3. Stephen Miller Thanks for your reply. I knew the previous reply was in error, as my Dubbs family was in Manheim twp, York, PA and they were somewhere near Codorus Twp. I have a feeling that this land was very near them, as some of the Dubbs children married into my ancestor Kreamer line, which was one of the owners of this tract of land. I appreciate your setting us straight.
