    1. [PA-VETERANS] Average age of men serving during the French & Indian War ?

    3. I am trying to come up with an estimate for the year of birth of an ancestor of mine, Gottfried Muschlitz. I know that he emigrated in 1753, served in the PA Militia at Ford Bradford in 1760, and died around 1778. What would be a reasonable range of ages for Gottfried, based on his serving in 1760? 3. Gottfried could have enlisted at age 16, but the more typical age at that time was 25. Given just the 1760 service, I'd start looking at a 1735 birthyear, +/- 10 years. Do you know anything about the length of his service? Do you know any more about the 1753 emigration? Was he an adult then? Life expectancy at that time was about age 40, for what it's worth.
