    2. The Valley Independent February 3, 1968 FETTY George Crook FETTY, 70, died suddenly today at 4 40 am at his home, 165 Linden Ave, Mapleview, Charleroi. Mr FETTY was born in Weston, W Va, Aug, 25, 1897, a son of Dr Ralph C and Alfretta CROOK FETTY. He was a member of First Memorial Church, Charleroi. He was a past master of Charleroi Lodge 615 Free and Accepted Masons; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh; Syria Temple. He belonged to Monongahela Country Club. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a retired employee of Fox Grocery Co, with 42 years of service. Surviving are his widow, Felicie BOSSON FETTY; a son, Jordan of Philadelphia; a daughter, Mrs A D (Norma Louise) PIERCE, Kennett Square, Pa; three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Harold L Schrock Funeral Home, Charleroi, tomorrow 12 to 2 and 7 to 9pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 30 pm. COATSWORTH Mrs Annie L COATSWORTH, 95, of 616 Liberty St, California, died yesterday at 5 20 pm in her home following an extended illness. She was born June 22, 1872, in Rices Landing, a daughter of Thomas REYNOLDS and Isabelle HUTT. A resident of California since 1890, she was a member of the California Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, G Raymond, Francis E and John W, all of California; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. BROPHY Requiem mass for Edward Gerald BROPHY, 16-year-old Elizabeth Twp. youth killed when struck by a vehicle Thursday night, will be held Monday at 10 am in St Michael Catholic Church, Elizabeth. The youth was dead on arrival at McKeesport Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Simpson-Howell Road. He was born Sept 4, 1951, son of Jerry and Fidelis BOYLE BROPHY of Simpson-Howell Road, Elizabeth Twp. He was a junior at Elizabeth Forward Senior High School. Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Gary, and a sister, Kathy, both at home; and grandparents, Mrs Charlotte MCCRAIG of Elizabeth Twp and Mr and Mrs Joseph BOYLE of West Newton. GRELO Mrs Mary SCARDNELO GRELO, 92, of Elrama Road, Elrama, died yesterday at her home. Mrs GRELO was the widow of the late Joseph SCARDNELO GRELO, Survivors include three sons, Bosco and Frank GRELO, both of Elrama, and John SCARDNELO GRELO of West Elizabeth; three daughters, Mrs Sara SNYDER of Clairton, Mrs Minnie STIEHN of Donora and Rose GRELO of Elrama; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Harry E Drum Funeral Home in West Elizabeth. GALLA Joseph (Ross) GALLA, 52, of 106 Roskovich St, Arnold City, died yesterday at 10 45am in Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a short illness. Born in Washington Twp, Fayette County, August 7, 1915, Mr GALLA was member of the Holy Spirit R C Church of Fayette City and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by two daughters, Linda at home, and Mrs Eugene (Diane) WILLIMAMS of Fayette City RD; one stepson, Edward BARON of Perryopolis; four brothers, Andrew of Perryopolis, John and George, both of Monessen, and Eugene of Matawan, NJ; two sisters, Mrs Edward (Anna) ZIMBA of Orlando, Fla and Mrs John (Helen) PATRICK of Monessen; and four grandchildren. His wife, Catherine BILSKY GALLA, preceded him in death on Aug 3, 1963. Friends are being received at the Howard W McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City. MELLINGER Walter H MELLINGER, 56, of Stephens Plan, Monongahela, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his home. Mr MELLINGER was employed as an operator Stanffer Chemical Co, Monongahela. He was a member of the Sunday School of the Church of Jesus Christ, Monongahela, and a member of United Mine Worker of America, District 50. Survivors include his widow, Margaret COWAN MELLINGER; two sons, Gerald, Bentleville and Rick, at home; a daughter, Audrey B LESNAK, Pleasant Hills; three grandchildren; six brothers, Delbert, Donald, George, Norman and John, all of Monongahela; and Dale of San Diego, Calif. Friends will be received at the Bebout and Yohe Co Funeral Home, Monongahela, after 7pm today. Services will be held Monday at 2pm from the funeral home. BALLIARD George, 62, of Finleyville RD 2, died in Monongahela Memorial Hospital at 7 57 am Friday, Feb 2, 1968, after an illness of three months. He is survived by his widow, Flora; a daughter, Mrs James (Shirley) COWELL of Peters Twp; one son, George, at home; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs Anna DELATTRE, and a brother, Henry, both of New Eagle. Friends are being received at the LM Frye Funeral Home, Monongahela. Service at 2 pm Monday, Feb 5, in Mingo Presbyterian Church. The Rev Wilson SPENCER, pastor, will officiate. BENTLEY Mrs Mary A, 74, of Smithton, formerly of Webster, died Feb 2, 1968, at 9 15 am, in Haven Crest Nursing and Convalescent Home, Fisher Heights, after a lingering illness. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs William (Betty) KREUTER of Smithton, and Evelyn BENTLEY of Los Angeles, Calif; three sons, William of Chicago, Ill, Sherman of Belle Vernon RD and Leroy of Smithton; a sister, Mrs Dewey (Ruth) JENNION of Speers; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Lawson-Rabe Funeral Home, Donora, after 7 pm today. Services will be held there Monday, Feb 5, at 1 pm, and interment will follow in Fells Cemetery. FROST James R (Bob), 90, of 206 Market St, Belle Vernon, died at 5 08 pm Thursday, Feb 1, 1968, in Haven Crest Nursing and Convalescent Home, County Club Road, Monongahela RD. Surviving are a son, Robert W of Jamestown, ND; a daughter, Ruth V FROST at home; one sister, Mrs Morgan HARTLEY of Rices Landing. Friends will be received at the Shelby D Furgeson Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, after 7 pm Feb 3. Service there Monday, Feb 5, at 1 30 pm, with Rev Richard B SNYDER, pastor of Belle Vernon’s First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Belle Vernon Cemetery.
